Booking a hotel room - Expedia's "No surprises!" guarantee means nothing - Expedia


Booking a hotel room - They won't stand by their guarantee of "No surprises! Here's the total price (all additional charges included):" The price quoted was $389.52 which was charged to my credit card. Three days later I am notified by the hotel that there will be additional charges of $129. When I said I was not willing to pay an additional 30% over the agreed upon price I was told either pay a cancellation fee of $259.68 or pay the additional $129. Since I was a female travelling by myself I chose to cancel because I didn't feel safe going to such a shady business - it felt like highway robbery. Numerous attempts to get Expedia to stand by their guarantee have been unsuccessful. I will never trust anything Expedia says again.
