Expedia Stole my Money and will lose my business


I booked a series of flights with expeida to conduct interviews with potential internship placements. During my trip one of my destinations was canceled due to inclement weather. I called Expedia to cancel this flight and continue on to my next destination. The service provider, Chet, said that it was done and I would be notified of the changes in a few days. I went on to my final interview only to discover the airline company canceled my flight back home because Chet never called to cancel my flight so I showed up as a "no show" to the airline. When I call in attempts to rectify the issue I am met with accusations that I never called and 6 hours and 20 minutes of being on hold. I eventually made my way up to a vice president, Mark Singer, and am told to fax a copy of my phone records to verify my due diligence. At this point I lost an estimated $250 flight back home, had to pay approximately $350 to fly back ( a flight I already paid for) and I had to stay at my hotel an extra two nights for $200. Making a grand total of $750, I should not have spent! When I was able to print my phone record off, I faxed it to his office. I did not hear back for several days, so I called, only to be met with my call being "dropped" three separate times and being on hold for a total of 8 hours and 15 minutes. Nothing was resolved. I then filed a complaint with the attorney generals office. After six months I finally hear back that Expedia was sorry for the mix up and I have a $200 voucher to fly with them within the next year. I want my $550 difference! I will never use Expedia again unless this is resolved, which I fear will never happen. I strongly urge everyone not to use them, because if there is a problem, they do not know how to handle it and will keep your money no matter how hard you fight to get it back. Please use anyone else!!
