I booked three tickets through Expedia in May from JfK New York to VNS India. I was very happy with the pricing and tickets. However my experience changed 360 degree when I got a email from Expedia in July telling my flight got cancelled. I called them about the issue and they suggested that airlines (AIR INDIA) has cancelled the first segment from JFK to London and since its airline mistake they will try to look for other options for me. I asked them what are my options, so they suggested either I can get another ticket and since its initiated by airlines I donot have to bear any change in flight or if I want I can get my money back. I went with option 1 to get other tickets. After more than 15 calls to expedia and spending more than 20 hours with their ignorant and arrogant customer reps, what I got to know was really frustrating. They told me that my tickets from London to Varanasi and varanasi to JFK are confirmed and I can use them. When I told the rep that I am in US and not in UK so she told I can go to london and then complete my trip. I was like ARe YOU SERIOUS. And during all this time they keep repeating one thing that we are just travel agent company and we cannt do anything. If you can not do anything close your company or dont do business with such airlines but please do not harass passengers who plan their vacations. Finally I thought lets get money back from these people who are good for nothing and to my surprise the rep told me "YOUR TICKETS ARE NON REFUNDABLE" I was literally thinking of filing a case against them. I told him I donot want to talk to you connect me to your supervisor or whatever and then he esclated my call and I talked to someone and came to know that they will refund my money but I have to wait 8 weeks. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. its their funny policy, because they think people are idiots but they donot understand that its we people who provide them bread and butter. FOR me and my family and friends we made sure we will never buy tickets from EXPEDIA because they are not worth it. HOPEfully I will pass these message to all the message board in my company and wife company so that people can save themselve from so called EXPEDIA.
